Recipient of the Presidential Citizens Medal from President Bush in 2008 and the National Medal of Technology & Innovation by President Obama in 2009. Dr. Bird has over 100 medical technology inventions including pioneering “Medi-Evac”. At 93 he is the oldest licensed helicopter pilot in the world and is qualified on almost all aircraft.
